Kampala, Uganda – The Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG) will host its third High-Level Roundtable Event on Critical Minerals Development in Africa on September 21, 2026, in Manhattan, New York.
Held on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly under the theme: “From Resources to Wealth: Continental Cooperation for Mineral Value Addition” this high-level event will be Chaired by His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria reflecting Nigeria’s chairmanship of the AMSG. Once again, the gathering will convene African Heads of State, ministerial representatives, multilateral institutions, and global private sector executives.
As the global economy accelerates toward a green, digital, and defence-driven future, the demand for critical minerals continues to surge. Africa possessing vast global reserves of critical energy-transition minerals is strategically positioned at the heart of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Following the momentum of the Mutual Assured Development (MADE) Framework launched at AFNIS 2026, this roundtable marks a defining transition from strategic dialogue to structural execution, culminating in the official unveiling of the AMSG’s Continental Integration and Economic Assurance Declaration (CIEAD).

Conveners
The Roundtable will be convened by the leadership of the Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG) and chaired by H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Chairperson of the AMSG General Assembly, alongside H.E. Dr. Oladele Henry Alake, Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Chairperson of the AMSG Ministerial Steering Committee, and H.E. Moses Micheal Engadu. “This roundtable is where we operationalize our shared architecture, harmonizing policies, unlocking innovative financing through structures like the CIEAD Finance Window, and ensuring that our mineral wealth drives local value addition and sustainable growth.”
The Third AMSG High-Level Roundtable will feature ministerial representatives from AMSG member states, multilateral institutions, development finance institutions such as the Africa Finance Corporation, and invited private sector executives from global mining, technology, traceability, and logistics sectors. The AMSG Roundtable is strategically partnered and supported by Core International.
